Celebrity Cruises is the premium brand of Royal Caribbean Group, the same company that owns Royal Caribbean and Silversea. Think of it as the calmer, more grown-up sister of Royal Caribbean: no water slides or ice rinks, more attention to food, wine, spa and interior design. Ships are mid-sized to large, but public spaces feel lighter and less crowded than on the mega-resort ships.
The passenger mix leans towards couples, friends travelling together and older families. That makes Celebrity a common pick for people who want a quieter ship without paying luxury-line prices. It is not adults-only, though. Children are welcome, there is a kids' program called Camp at Sea, and during school holidays you will see families on board. If you need a ship with no children at all, look at the lines on our adults-only cruises page instead. The big ships each have an adults-only Solarium with its own pool.
Dress is smart casual most nights, with a few "Evening Chic" nights where people dress up but black tie is optional. Group backing also keeps the line steady, with new ships arriving regularly.
Celebrity names its ships "Celebrity" plus one word and builds them in classes that share venues and cabin types. The fleet table above lists all 16 ships we track.
The newest and largest ships: Celebrity Edge, Celebrity Apex, Celebrity Beyond, Celebrity Ascent and Celebrity Xcel. Edge and Apex measure 130,818 gross tons. The later three were stretched to 141,420 GT and 3,260 passengers, which bought them more cabins and a larger pool deck.
The signature feature is the Magic Carpet, a platform the size of a tennis court cantilevered off the side of the ship. It moves between decks and works as a bar, a restaurant and the boarding platform for tenders. Most cabins are Infinite Veranda staterooms: instead of a separate balcony, a glass wall drops down at the touch of a button and the veranda space becomes part of the room. Other Edge-class touches include the Rooftop Garden and the multi-level Eden lounge. Xcel, built in 2025, is the newest ocean ship in the fleet.
Celebrity Solstice, Celebrity Equinox, Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Silhouette and Celebrity Reflection. These are known for the Lawn Club, a patch of real grass on the top deck, and for a high share of balcony cabins. Reflection is the largest of the five at 125,366 GT and 3,046 passengers, and it runs most of Celebrity's short Bahamas cruises from Fort Lauderdale. Searching for "Eclipse cruise ship"? Celebrity Eclipse is this Solstice-class ship; Scenic Eclipse is an unrelated small luxury ship from Scenic.
Celebrity Millennium, Celebrity Infinity, Celebrity Summit and Celebrity Constellation. At about 91,000 GT and 2,140 to 2,170 passengers they are the smallest of the big ships. All four went through the "Revolutionized" refit program, which brought in new cabins, Retreat suites and updated restaurants. They fit smaller ports.
Celebrity Flora is a 100-passenger expedition ship built for the Galapagos Islands. Celebrity Compass is a Danube river ship, with 7-night sailings between Budapest and Vilshofen listed from August 2027. More on river cruising is on our river cruises page.
The Retreat is Celebrity's ship-within-a-ship for suite guests, and it is the main reason people pay suite prices on this line. Every Retreat guest gets access to Luminae, a private restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the Retreat Lounge with drinks and snacks through the day, and the Retreat Sundeck with its own loungers and service. Higher suite categories add more inclusions.
The Retreat is not adults-only. Children booked in a suite use the same restaurant, lounge and sundeck. In our price data the median suite fare is €578 per person per night outside the Galapagos, compared with €201 for a balcony cabin, so expect to pay roughly three times as much.
The base fare covers your cabin, the main restaurant, the Oceanview Café buffet, several casual venues, shows, pools, the Solarium and the kids' program. Water, drip coffee, tea and some juices are free.
Celebrity has repeatedly changed how it bundles extras. Fares are sometimes sold with a drinks package, Wi-Fi or tips included, and sometimes as a lower cruise-only rate. Check the fare type on your booking before comparing prices, because two fares for the same cabin can cover very different things. The main extras are:
The minimum drinking age is 21 on sailings from North America.
Captain's Club is Celebrity's loyalty program. You earn credits for every night you sail, with extra credits for higher cabin categories, and you move up through six tiers: Preview, Classic, Select, Elite, Elite Plus and Zenith. Benefits grow from member events and onboard discounts at the lower levels to drinks perks and priority services at the top tiers.
Because Celebrity and Royal Caribbean belong to the same group, Captain's Club and Crown & Anchor Society recognize each other's tiers. If you hold status on one line, you get matching benefits when you sail the other. That makes it worth comparing per-night fares on both lines before you book.
The Caribbean is Celebrity's biggest market. Of the 580 sailings we track in the next 12 months, 153 go to the Caribbean and 56 to the Bahamas. Next come the Galapagos (106), Alaska (80) and the Mediterranean (77), followed by Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and Northern Europe. Most voyages run 7 nights or longer: 269 sailings last 10 nights or more, and only 50 are 4 nights or fewer.
Fort Lauderdale is Celebrity's home port by a wide margin, with 121 departures, followed by Miami (34), Port Canaveral (25), San Juan (19) and Tampa (18). Alaska cruises leave from Vancouver, Seward and Seattle. In Europe the main ports are Barcelona, Civitavecchia for Rome and Piraeus for Athens, and in the southern summer the ships sail from Sydney. All 106 Galapagos sailings start at Baltra Island, so you fly there through mainland Ecuador.
Celebrity costs more than the mass-market lines but less than the luxury ones. The median cheapest fare across its next 12 months is €215 per person per night, against €181 for Royal Caribbean and €165 for Norwegian. The Galapagos skews that figure: leave out Flora and the river ship and the median drops to €202. By cabin, the median is €138 per night for an inside cabin, €164 oceanview and €201 balcony.
Region matters more than ship. The Bahamas run cheapest at a median of €132 per night, the Caribbean €173 and the Mediterranean €209, while Alaska (€270), Northern Europe (€286) and Australia (€300) cost more. Galapagos sailings start at €7,083 per person for 7 nights in a suite. The cheapest fare we hold right now is €248 per person, for a 3-night Celebrity Reflection sailing from Fort Lauderdale to Key West and the Bahamas in an inside cabin.
By month, outside the Galapagos, April has the lowest median at €150 per night, followed by November (€160), October (€163) and March (€164). June to August is the most expensive period at around €250, because that is when the higher-priced Alaska and Northern Europe seasons run. Prices are the cheapest cabin, per person, captured on the date shown on the page.
Celebrity reprices often, especially on sailings with unsold cabins and during its regular sales. The Celebrity deals feed lists the latest drops for this line. To see where each ship is right now, use the Celebrity fleet tracker.
If you have booked a fare that can still be changed before final payment, keep watching it. When the price of your cabin category falls, ask the line or your travel agent whether the new rate can be applied. A price alert on the plans page does the watching for you and emails you when the fare moves, and price history (90 days on Basic, 12 months on Pro) shows whether today's price is actually low for that sailing.
Celebrity Cruises operates 16 ships in our database, the largest being Celebrity Ascent at 141,420 GT.
The median fare across the next 12 months of Celebrity Cruises sailings is about €215 per person per night for the cheapest cabin, before taxes and gratuities.
Across current sailings the United States booking site is on average the cheapest, with a 0% gap to the most expensive market. Pro members see the market for each sailing.
Celebrity Cruises's upcoming sailings are concentrated in Caribbean (32%), Galapagos Islands (22%), Alaska (17%), Mediterranean (16%), Bahamas (12%).
Celebrity Cruises is owned by Royal Caribbean Group, the Miami-based company that also owns Royal Caribbean International and Silversea. Celebrity is the group's premium brand, positioned between the big-resort Royal Caribbean ships and Silversea's small luxury ships.
No. Celebrity welcomes children and runs a kids' program, Camp at Sea, but its ships have fewer family attractions than Royal Caribbean and draw a mostly adult crowd. The big ships have an adults-only Solarium pool, and The Retreat suite area admits children.
Celebrity Xcel, built in 2025, is the newest ocean ship in our catalogue and the fifth Edge-class ship. Celebrity Compass, a Danube river ship, is also listed in our data with its first sailings from Budapest in August 2027.
We track 16 Celebrity ships: five Edge-class ships, five Solstice-class ships, four Millennium-class ships, the Galapagos ship Celebrity Flora and the river ship Celebrity Compass. The fleet table on this page shows size, age, live status and the next fare for each.
Across 580 Celebrity sailings in the next 12 months, the median cheapest fare is €215 per person per night, or €202 if you leave out the Galapagos and river sailings. The lowest fare we hold right now is €248 per person for a 3-night Celebrity Reflection sailing from Fort Lauderdale in an inside cabin.
The Retreat is Celebrity's suite class. Suite guests get a private restaurant called Luminae, a private lounge and a private sundeck, plus extra inclusions that grow with the suite category. It is not adults-only: children booked in a suite have the same access.
Captain's Club has six tiers: Preview, Classic, Select, Elite, Elite Plus and Zenith. You earn credits for every night you sail, with more for higher cabin categories, and Royal Caribbean Group links the program with Crown & Anchor Society so status on one line brings benefits on the other.
In our data, April, November, October and March have the lowest median fares, between €150 and €164 per person per night outside the Galapagos. June to August is the most expensive stretch, around €250 per night, because that is when Alaska and Northern Europe sailings run.
