Disney Cruise Line is the cruise arm of The Walt Disney Company and has run its own ships since the late 1990s. It is the most expensive of the big family lines per night, and it rarely puts sailings on sale. This guide explains what you get for that money, which ship and port suit you, and when fares are at their lowest in our data. The fleet table, current deals and region chart above are live; the text below explains how to read them.
Disney is built first for families with children aged about 3 to 12. Kids' clubs are free, run long hours and are themed around Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar and Disney stories. Characters appear around the ship every day, and the shows are original Disney productions rather than cover-band revues.
It also works well for multi-generation trips. Grandparents, parents and children can share a dinner table every night while the kids still have their own space during the day. Adult Disney fans travelling without children are a large and loyal group too.
Adults are not an afterthought. Every ship has the Quiet Cove adults-only pool, adults-only lounges and Palo, an adults-only specialty restaurant. Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy add Remy, a French fine-dining room, and the Wish-class ships have Enchanté. If you want no children on board at all, look at our adults-only cruises guide instead.
Disney's fleet falls into four groups, and the class matters more than the name when you compare sailings.
The newest Disney ships are Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure. Disney has announced more new ships beyond these, so the fleet will keep growing. Use the Disney fleet tracker to see where each ship is right now.
A Disney fare covers more than the headline price suggests, which is part of the per-night premium.

Extra:
Budget for drinks, Wi-Fi and gratuities on top of the fare. For a family of four on a seven-night cruise they add up quickly.
Disney owns two private destinations in the Bahamas. Castaway Cay has family beaches, Serenity Bay for adults only, and the ship docks right at the island, so there is no tender boat. Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, on the island of Eleuthera, is the newer destination, with a stronger focus on Bahamian culture.
These island days are a big reason families pick Disney. In our data, 328 of 329 upcoming Disney sailings from Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale call at Castaway Cay, Lookout Cay, or both. Many also call at Nassau, the second most common stop on Disney itineraries we track.
Most Disney sailings in the next 12 months leave from Florida. Port Canaveral, about an hour from the Orlando parks, has the most departures, followed by Fort Lauderdale. Short Bahamas cruises dominate, with longer Western and Eastern Caribbean cruises mixed in.
Outside Florida, our data shows:
The region chart above shows how Disney's sailings split across these areas.
In our latest prices, the median Disney fare is €323 per person per night. On the same basis, Royal Caribbean's median is €181 and Carnival's is €132. That makes Disney roughly 1.8 times Royal Caribbean and 2.4 times Carnival. All figures are the cheapest cabin, per person, captured on the date shown on the page.
The gap is wider on like-for-like trips. For inside cabins on Bahamas and Caribbean sailings sold on the US site, Disney's median is about €320 a night, against €124 on Royal Caribbean and €91 on Carnival.
Why the premium? Disney has far fewer ships than the mass-market lines, demand from families is steady, and the brand rarely needs to fill cabins with sales.
Where you sail changes the price a lot. In our data, Disney Adventure from Singapore (about €246 a night) and the West Coast sailings from San Diego (about €252) are the cheapest per night. Florida departures run about €340–360, and Europe is the most expensive, near €500. The lowest fare we hold right now is from €525 per person, for a three-night Singapore cruise.
Timing matters as well. October, November and January departures have the lowest median per night, while June and July, during school holidays, are the most expensive. See the seasonality chart on the Disney deals page for the full month-by-month picture.
Castaway Club tiers are based on how many Disney cruises you have completed:
The main benefit is timing. Higher tiers can book new itineraries earlier and get earlier access to online check-in and to booking specialty dining, spa treatments and excursions. On popular sailings, that early access can matter more than any discount.
Disney rarely runs fare sales, and prices usually rise as a sailing fills. These steps help:
Use find a cruise to filter Disney sailings by port, month and length, then save the search to keep track of prices.

No. Soft drinks, coffee and tea at the beverage stations are included, but beer, wine, cocktails and specialty coffees cost extra. Disney does not sell an unlimited drinks package, so you pay per drink.
Not all, but almost every sailing from Florida does. In our data, 328 of 329 upcoming Disney cruises from Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale call at Castaway Cay, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, or both.
Yes. Every ship has the Quiet Cove adults-only pool and Palo, an adults-only specialty restaurant. Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy also have Remy, the Wish-class ships have Enchanté, and Castaway Cay has the adults-only Serenity Bay beach.
Castaway Club has four tiers based on completed Disney sailings: Silver after your first cruise, Gold after five, Platinum after ten and Pearl after 25. Higher tiers get earlier booking windows and earlier access to online check-in and activity reservations.
